[ With such a clear cut path and fierce levels of determination, it appeared Clarke had known what she wanted out of her life since the beginning but that couldn't be further from the truth. She had not grow up wanting to be a doctor, it had actually unfolded more naturally for her throughout high school and largely in part of her mother's insistence she help out and volunteer at the local hospital. Helping the kids had really solidified the path for her and she hadn't looked back too much even if she kept her sketchpad and pencils with her all the time.
Yes, sensible and no nonsense Clarke Griffin lived and breathed art, at one point wanting to be a famous painter, traveling the world to explore it all with her canvas but childish fantasies eventually concluded when more of reality set in.
A reality she had lost herself in and a quick glance at the clock told her the huge mistake she made trying to finish both units in one afternoon. Grabbing for her things, she shoved everything inside her messenger bag before taking off as fast as possible. She couldn't be late for the bus to get home! She had a shift and without making the bus she would miss it.
Taking off in a literal run, Clarke did not notice the sign in her haste and did not hear the guy calling out to her until it was much too late.

She fell hard on the ground, her bag and papers scattering everywhere. Makeup, pens, books, her sketchbook and a ton of other things went everywhere. She tended to live out of her bag. But she did not have time to waste! ]
