[At first, Hana thinks that he's pulled the covers off the bed to drape over her, but as her hands tug at the fabric she realizes that it's clothing and quickly shimmies into the too-large shirt and drawstring pants to cover herself.
While he watches. And asks questions. Face flaming with embarrassment she stays down there on the floor, before finally looking back up at him.]
I don't--I'm not part of any organization or clan or...or anything like that. No one sent me I just--I got caught too late with the rise of the full moon. [She doesn't have family. She doesn't have a protector. She has nothing.] It's just me. And I'm...
[Does she tell him what she is? Hana hesitates. She doesn't know him, doesn't know who he is or what, only that he works with the police. And that he gave her clothes when she was naked. That he didn't bite her for a snack in either of her forms. Her teeth catch on her lower lip before she decides to take the risk.]
I'm a luck rabbit.
[Maybe that will help convince him that she's unassociated. Luck rabbits are a rarity in this day and age, and notorious for trying to stay under the radar from everyone. Take on a protector, get outed, and you risk some rival making a play to steal the luck rabbit away...and luck hunters aren't the only ones who might find it inconvenient to keep a luck rabbit alive.
But she's banking on the fact that because he works for the police, he has some sense of justice within him. Some sense of goodness that means the thought of exploiting her and her powers wouldn't even occur to him.]
[ A dubious look worked over his face because how could anyone of a supernatural status not have some kind of affiliation. He just didn't accept it until she confessed her actual status. A luck rabbit; how incredibly rare and dangerous in ways he could barely wrap his head around. Not just for the rabbit in question but also from those surrounding it. Nothing intimdated him, though, much to the frustration of everyone else around him. They wished for it to be the other way around to keep him better in line.
What to do now. What to do.
Nodding to himself, he held out a hand to help her back to her feet. The supposed luck she might offer mattered very little to him and unlikely it would even work in the first place. Very few magic benefited or worked on original vampires. Besides, he preferred making his own luck in life. ]
Do you normally take such a risk being out in rabbit form? Many could easily pick up on what you are. There's a very thriving black market for rare supernatural beings.
[ He motioned for her to follow him. ] I do not need to eat but enjoy doing so. Are you hungry, lil Emmie?
[The first show of sass Hana shows Asim is when he tells her how risky it is for her to be out in public in her rabbit form. How there's a black market for her kind. She gives him a look that could not be any more No shit, Sherlock if she tried. There's no stopping herself, even though she probably ought to.
No one is more aware of the danger she's in for simply existing than she is. Not even old-as-dirt vampires like Asim. In an odd way, the indignation is almost settling for her.
Still, she does move to follow him when he promises food.] I'm famished, actually. And it's not Emmie, it's Hana.
[Her hands clasp in front of her as she follows behind, stomach growling abruptly. With a wince, she covers her stomach and makes a face.]
But to answer your other question, no, I usually try to avoid being out during the full moon at all costs. I wasn't lucky enough to make it home on time last night. [And there are two more nights to this month's full moon.]
[ Setting all sorts of food options on the counter, he only paused when the not really a bunny offered her real name. Not as nice as Emmie but he supposed he could humor her for the time being and use her actual name. He could rename her later on to something he enjoyed more. ]
Well, Hana, pick something to eat and I'll make it. [ His hand gestured over what he put out, leaning against the opposite counter with arms folded against his chest. Very interesting but still not any less annoying because of the shifter aspect. They were terrors to say the least and often a political nightmare with their inability to remember the whole hidden from mortals aspects. ]
Were you doing something illegal? Don't worry I won't turn you in. I deal with the dead, not the living.
[Hana looks at all of the food he lays out for her, eyes widening bigger and bigger. So much food. Her stomach growls despite herself, and she covers it with a hand considering the options.
And the fact that he's a vampire that keeps food in his kitchen. That knows how to cook.]
I'm not picky as long as it doesn't take too long. I haven't eaten since lunch yesterday.
[Because yes, she's ignoring his question about whether she was doing something illegal because it makes her feel indignant.
But she does answer him at length, explaining how she'd been running errands and had caught the attention of a creepy guy. How it had taken longer than she'd hoped to lose him, and by that time she couldn't get home before the change had come with the full moon.
One thing leads to another, and while he cooks, she talks more. Explains where she lives and why she has such a tiny place. How she does work getting paid under the table, but that she tries to keep a low profile at all times. She explains what her life is like. Even, with some prodding, tells him about her family, and why no one else is looking out for her.
Against all odds, by the end of the conversation her stomach is full and she finds she even trusts him a little. Even if she's not certain if he feels the same.]
