[ Her heart clenched painfully in her chest but she tried to ignore it in favor of focusing on every single moment happening. She wanted to commit it all to memory just in case. ]

Dae is a name I know really well. [ A pause. ] That's me.

[examen]

[ Noah gives a bit of a sheepish smile as he lowers his hand, and laughs, holding his arms out a little bit. ]

Hey. I'd probably call you kiddo but I don't think you're much younger than me at this point.

[hopstuff]

[ a rather hopeful look crossed over her face but she tried to not look too over excited about finally running into her dad. for him, she didn't exist yet, after all. no sense in overwhelming him.

did he want a hug or not? the confliction. ]

You can still call me kiddo. I always like - liked that. Have you - met Jake yet? You are with mom - Hana, right? Already?

[examen]

[ He shakes his head, though it's more in response to one part: ]

Haven't met up with your brother yet, but yeah. Hana and I are together.

[ Granted it's still pretty early on, but they have at least wanted to make it clear they wanted to be together.

He stps forward a little bit and gently hugs her. ]

It's still a bit surreal but. It's nice. Having a family already like this.

[hopstuff]

[ her parents being together already kind of relieved her and her breath she hadn't know she had been holding puffed out. her cheeks a little puffy because of it for a moment. something that would look very, very familiar and 'hana-like'. dae and jake had a lot of traits of their parents, of course. ]

He'll enjoy meeting you too. You guys showed us a lot of pictures when you were both - [ she waved her hand out with a shake of her head. the hug surprised her but she returned it all too happily, not being as gentle. she really liked tight hugs, okay! ]

Family is really important for us in the future. We always have family dinner and game nights. You dealt with a lot of rabbits hopping all over the place.

[examen]

[ Yeah, he definitely recognizes Hana's habit of puffing out her cheeks - and chuckles at it. Definitely their child. There's a muffled 'oof' as she hugs him tighter, but he's still grinning all the same. ]

Honestly that sounds about right. But just how many other rabbits did I have to deal with outside you, your brother, and Hana?

[hopstuff]

[ pulling back slowly, she tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear. ]

A few of my friends are - were also shifters. A couple others were rabbits, some were others. You never cared for the one who was a tiger or the bear.

But Jakey had a friend that was a lion. I still think that was more intense than any of mine.

[ the whole predators talk happened frequently but dae never really listened very well to it. she never cared about anyone shifted into. ]

[examen]

[ To be fair, the predator shifter talk was more Hana's bag than Noah's. Papa and Grandpappy are both wolves, after all. ]

Probably seemed like jerks. [ He shrugs. ] I can't really talk though, considering what I am - never mind that my best friend's a demon.

[ Even if Jesse's more likely to just clear out a buffet in less than a minute than actually hurt anyone. ]

I know or remember. We always needed a lot of food. We had a very...blended family. [ dae remarked with a shake of her head. her eyes kept running over her dad's face, kind of in awe and it would probably remain for awhile. ]

It's kind of - like seeing old pictures come to life. You're probably about my age right now. You told us a lot of stories but things might be different now.

[ there were probably a lot of things he never told either of his kids. ]

I wish I knew why we are back here.

[examen]

Blame Jesse. [ He's more than willing to throw his best friend under the bus, it's just how their relationship worked. There were plenty of moments when in the past that Jesse had teased Noah for his unintentional charms. ]

How old are you right now, speaking of? Just ... out of curiosity.

[ She couldn't be much older than him if she is. ]

Wish I knew too, kiddo. It's surreal, and I don't know how to feel about it, really.
