Re: @accidental selkie marriage

[ It's amazing how two boys with similar origins can grow up so differently depending on what they are or aren't told. Haeju had never actually had contact with his mother, had never been gifted a pelt that would allow him to seamless slide into seal form, and had never grown up believing in magic. Of course, his dad hadn't exactly wanted to lose his oldest son either, and had always been cagey when questions about his mom came up. Haeju, easy going and overly realistic fool that he was, had just assumed that talking about his mom had been too hard on his dad.

That's how he ends up in weird situations like this, with a boy (that he admittedly did feel a strange connection with long before this coat dropping incident) who keeps insisting he's magic, Haeju's magic, the whole world around them is magic. It's all a bit much for Haeju to swallow, and he's already tried to write off several small feats of magic shown to him as actual smoke and mirrors, but it's getting harder and harder to do with each example.

And admittedly something had felt strangely important about picking up that coat and handing it back to Kai, but Haeju would be damned if he could put his finger on why.

Of all the answers he could have come up with, however, this never crossed his mind. He's standing there in the doorway now, staring dumbfounded at the ring box in Kai's hand as he tries to process what was just said to him.

Our-- wait-- I... What?!
