"Well that's something new," Steve responded, feeling bad a few seconds later for the words. He didn't mean to snap but his exhaustion had taken a toll, both physically and mentally. More than anything, he just wanted to sleep and feel safe for once. He couldn't remember the last time he had any sense of peace when he had so many others to worry about and in extension the world. Did the government still have a bounty on his head? Did they still want him to hold trial? It had been hard to come by SOME information when they needed to all stay off the radar.
