"Because you can grandstand all you want about your territory, but you don't want this war to continue any more than I do." It was probably more blunt than the situation called for, but the teasing light that had been in Tony's eyes throughout the entire conversation had finally faded. He could, on occasion, be serious.

"It's stupid and it's wasteful and apparently we have bigger things to be worried about." Just the faintest quirk of a smile at that, but Tony's eyes were still serious. "Am I wrong?"

The distaste only heightened the longer they were in one another's presence but he tried to keep a tighter lock on the reactions he wanted to give. The vampires would only use it against them and he did not want to give them any other tools to wield. At the moment, the shifters held the upperhand and it meant everything. Perhaps, they did possess a lot of pride.

"Be that as it may, do you have any true plans to make that happen or are you only able to state the obvious?" He questioned with a shake of his head. There were probably nicer ways to go about this but he didn't really have it in him to attempt any of them.

"Wow," he drawled after a moment. "I can really see why they sent you to a peace talk. You're so diplomatic." Tony took another couple of slow steps backward, something almost chiding in his eyes. "Lucky for you, I happen to be extremely good at it. So come find me when you actually want to talk instead of being patronizing."

And just because he couldn't help himself, Tony flashed him a smirk. "I need to go find something to drink. If you'll excuse me."
