Sam graced T'Challa with a surprisingly soft smile that was at odds with his current animal state. "Thank you," he said simply.

Before nightfall, more of the Dora Milaje came to escort him back down to the space below the palace; Sam was reassured to see that T'Challa was keeping his promise. He stripped his clothes off as he waited for the change to overtake him; by the time T'Challa arrived, a chocolate brown wolf was waiting eagerly for him, pacing back and forth. He sneezed at the strong scent of cat, then went down onto his front two paws in the universal canine "play" posture, tongue lolling from his mouth.
