Good choice. [ Steve finds himself saying, trying to stay calm about completely losing his identity. The soldier in him warns himself not to give away how little he remembers about himself, that it'll only expose his vulnerability to her, and he can't assume she isn't a threat to him just because she has a kind face. ]

How can I trust you, Miss Danvers?

[ He shouldn't be standing up without help and he does so too quickly, stumbling into the nearest wall, made of stone. He puts his hand out against the wall to steady himself - and somehow makes a hole in the wall by colliding his fist against it, unintentionally of course.

He stares at the wall in shock, then down at his hand he opens and closes repeatedly. ]

How did I do that? [ He looks towards Kara with wide eyes. Has he always been able to do that? ]

You can't but maybe you'll let me show you that you can.

[ Trust shouldn't ever be easy to earn, especially lately with everything going on. Not that Steve would know anything about the state of things, which she wanted to shield him from as long as possible until he found his footing. He might know it but she already knew plenty about him before all of this and currently.

Even if Winn warned her, she still gasped a little at his strength, moving without thinking to check his hand out. ]

Are you okay? [ Her hand caressed his gently, looking up into his eyes. ]

This - is something new. Another reason I want to help. I can do the same thing. I can help you figure this out if you let me.

Physically, yeah. [ Mentally is he okay? Not really. Oddly enough, he hadn't felt any pain from damaging the wall, no sign of bruising on his hand. It was like hitting a cushion. It was a sign that he could take more damage than the average person, maybe even have accelerated healing, but he wouldn't know for sure until someone tried to hurt him...

Tests - was that why Kara was here? To take him somewhere they could test what he could do? ]

You - you can do the same thing? [ This was a lot to take in. Steve pinches the bridge of his nose, trying to compose himself. ] Are you gonna take me to a lab somewhere?

[ With the wind picking up around them, Kara's cape started drifting faster through the breeze, swirling back and forth. She knew they needed to go before someone zeroed in on their location, undoubtedly receiving the ping about a disturbance.

They were so lucky they found it first but there were plenty of other more dangerous groups around that would love to use Steve. ]

I can show you when we get somewhere safe. [ She insisted, holding out her hand for him to take. ]

It's not a lab, I promise. Its a headquarters and I won't let anyone near you or do anything you don't constent to.

But we really need to leave here. I can - fly us to the headquarters if you feel okay enough go grab onto me.

We're not safe here? [ Steve couldn't understand why. There didn't look like there were any people around for miles... ]

Grab... onto you. [ Ever the gentleman from the early 1900s, Steve gives her a look like he's not sure he's comfortable with doing that as long as she insists it's okay. ] Wait, did you say fly?

[ He doesn't know whether to be excited or terrified. ]

[ There were so many things to say but not enough time to express them all. In a way, she worried about saying too much and making him panic unnecessarily. He came from a different time point and everything.

Trying to give a reassuring smile, she took a few steps forward. ]

They haven't arrived yet but they will and we need to be out of here before that happens!

[ The flying might be difficult as well for him but they couldn't very well walk most of the way there. ]

I can go fast! We'll be there before you even notice we've left. You just need to grab onto me to not fall. You won't hurt me. [ At least, she hoped. His abilities were hard to determine so far. ]
