The issue with the hunters made for a precarious situation and all of the ones in the know needed to be extra cautious. Not an issue whatsoever for one Derek Hale, who took being careful to a whole new level after everything he went through the past few years but the fight continued. It wouldn't end until they stopped the hunters from targeting and killing innocent supernatural.
Would they ever be an end?
Leaving Beacon Hills behind, Derek found himself in a whole new location to try and find supernatural before the hunters. As a cover, he took up a job as grounderskeeper for a manor in town. One which reminded him of his family home.
As he walked to the stables, he noticed one of the daughters seated on the ledge. The one he hadn't met yet. Might as well attempt conversation to not lose the job so soon. "I don't believe we've met. Your dad just employed me," Derek greeted, "I'm Derek Hale."
Things are slightly precarious with the Huston family coffers at the moment, what with so much wrapped up in a fleet of freighters on a very long voyage halfway around the world. But it's a gamble the family patriarch is sure will pay off, so aside from a little extra care taken to economy in expenses, things are pretty much as they always have been in their lives.
That means keeping a full staff on board, so when the old groundskeeper retired and one of his assistants was moved up to take his place, no time was wasted in making sure the newly vacant position was filled. Beauty has a vague knowledge that there's a new person around the place, but up until now they hadn't crossed paths.
She's a bit surprised to find out that he's younger than she'd expected. And handsome -- not that Beauty Huston has time to waste on caring about a person's looks. Handsome people are often stupid as well, her own sisters being the rare exceptions in her eyes. So maybe she's just a tiny bit cool as she looks up from her book at the greeting. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Hale."
