They had Pike to worry about, the chips and the uprising for a new Commander. Lexa hadn't died, of course, but they would see the wound as a weakness. ]
I did. We can talk more later. I'm going to get us somewhere safe, okay?
[ Gathering the things from Lexa's arms, she wrapped an arm around her to try and ease them slowly out and away from the tower. ]

Yet she knows she could be killed easily in any fight, and had she not nearly died from a betrayal from within her closest circle of trust?
So she straightens herself up, takes one last regretful look at her room and moves over to Clarke, letting her lead them out.]
I know a place.

Between her people, the grounders and the city of light they had their work cut out for them. ]
Okay, tell me where to go.
[ She tried to give an encouraging look, grabbing onto Lexa as they crept out of the room and towards the new destination. ]

The place she had in mind had involved some very discrete weaving out of the city and back towards trigeda land but curving far away from Arcadia, the mountain and even her own clan. It's a small cave, and then deeper in a little door she moves to slide though, holding her breath and fighting dizziness as she does. Inside it's not quite a bunker, perhaps a strange cabin for a long dead hermit, or something built from spare parts by those who came later. But there's a bed, some seats, and a whole lot of old books. A frosted window lets in some sunlight, though it is mostly overgrown.]
Anya and I used to stay here sometimes. No one else knows of it.' and Anya was dead, so there was no one. 'There is good hunting out this way, we will not starve, either.

Sit down. [ She left little room for arguing, flat out ignoring everything else as she grabbed for her kit to patch Lexa back up. Again. ]
You're going to lay down and sleep while I try to see if I can get in contact with anyone with the walkie. It probably won't work but it's worth a shot.

[She sits without arguing, settles for what might pass as comfortably as Clarke fusses with her wound.]

I need to connect with the city of lights and see if I can work this out. Before it makes the alliances worse.
[ Looking towards the entrance, she nodded again. ]
I need a chip and that means letting myself get captured. I know they want me taken in at Arkadia.
no subject
Who have they given the chips too? [Chip is such a strange and cold word for something that is supposedly like the flame in her neck.]
no subject
I know Raven has one. I know Jaha is controlling them somehow. It's hard to say who else might but I'm sure a lot.
[ Sighing, she put down the walkie talkie. ] They're going to pick another Commander, Lexa, they're going to claim you're dead. Pike has taken over and is murdering innocents. Whatever Jaha is doing he's controlling others. I don't know what to do!
no subject
[That didn't mean there wouldn't be a pretender - Lexa wasn't stupid. But all she needed to do was heal a little and she could fix anyone who tried. Dammit. Why had Titus done this now?!
Suddenly Lexa pales.]
The natblidas... Ontari... Even Aden may not best her. We both have to go back.
no subject
We cannot go back until you're healed and not without a plan!
no subject
If they take my absence to be a sign of my death, they will call a conclave - or try. The natblidas will all die at Ontari's hand. We need them. I do not know where to find more. [There is Luna, of course, but Luna wouldn't cooperate; she had always been stubborn and set in whatever way she decided was best. Far more so than even Lexa who Clarke often seemed to view as unmovable. There would be some in the villages, too, hidden or just unknown. There would not be many.
More importantly, they would not be hers. Not children trained to become rulers, who knew the importance of justice and fairness and the cost of ruling.]
If the flame is one of these "chips" I do not think the two are the same. [Lexa adds, after a moment.] We take natblidas because the chip kills those it finds unworthy, those with red blood.
no subject
The conclave made sense but would make things even more difficult. What if it already took place and people were being swayed over? Not having a body for verification would make it difficult, though, to really move past Lexa being the rightful one.
The chip killed those without the black blood? It had to have some detection software within it then. Ingenious really but it meant scientific engineering in some way. ]
Let's give it the night and you can rest. There are ways to sleep without actually falling asleep. [ Clarke began, moving forward to try and fluff the sad looking pillows. ] If you show back up - whatever they've done will be dissolved, right? Or would you have to battle?
[ There were so many rules on the ground and she barely kept up with them all. ] As for the flame, I really need to study one of the chips Jaha has. To compare.
no subject
Dead Heda's don't walk, or talk, after all.
[And death will always be the only way out for Lexa. She would always be the Commander of the thirteen clans as long as she drew breath. If only Titus hadn't made that so much harder than it needed to be.]
You would have to carve the flame out of my neck to compare it to a chip. I didn't see it up close before my ascension.
no subject
They still need a Commander and without you there, they'll say you've died. [ Clarke responded, arms folded tightly against her chest. ] People are scared right now. Desperate. Jaha is going to use that to his advantage and so will the other nations.
[ Ice nation being their biggest issue. ] Get some rest and then we can go back. We'll see what happens but I think they'll try to kill you. If someone has taken over by the time we return .....
no subject
We will handle Jaha. He underestimates his enemies. [He had underestimated her on sight, not a mistake he was likely to make so plainly anymore but nonetheless Lexa was sure he wouldn't even think they had a way of beginning to understand his plans. They had to work it out, and so, they would. Even if it cost her life.]
Rest with me, a while. [It's not a command, her voice is softer and almost with an edge of pleading to it.] We are both tired.
