@accidental selkie marriage

[ Tradition, of course, mattered to many but it held a special kind of importance for the selkie. Every little bit of their history existed through all their dealings and held a kind of binding force within the universe. Basically, no one managed to slide away from what a selkie deemed as a law, the very same for the fae. No one could ever break a binding to either one of them. For Kai, though, he never really focused on all the stories, laws and traditions. They were nice to hear about but he never imagined they would impact his life in a greater way.

Imagine his surprise then when he somehow managed to drop his coat. Oh, it looked like a regular coat but it was actually his selkie skin. How he even brought it with him he didn't know. An accident with binding purposes because the one to pick it up just so happened to be his brand new spouse.

Married. He suddenly found himself married! The desire for all selkie and with eager excitement, he grabbed for the ancient wedding bands his mother gifted to him on his thirteen birthday when he came into his full selkie powers. She told him all about the importance then of a bind with a selkie but how different could it be?

Pocketing the little black box in his coat on the following morning, he played in his mind what to say to the one who opened the door. He had all kinds of speeches prepared but in the end excitement over being wanted won out and he blurted out - ]

Hello husband! I thought you might want a traditional ring for our union too. [ Here he held out the little black box, popping it open and the rings looked like sea glass with ancient runes etched all over them. ]
